Summary

This is real Indian food; the bright, fresh, light, herb- and spice-lifted food that Indians turn to each and every day。 Extremely healthy, beautifully simple and packed with fresh flavour, it's not your parents' Indian food。

In 2014, barrister Nisha Katona had a nagging obsession to build a restaurant serving the kind of food Indians eat at home and on the street。 The first Mowgli restaurant opened in Liverpool in late 2014, blowing away the critics and forming legions of fans。

The simple dishes of a Mowgli menu are a million miles away from the curry stereotype。 This unique collection of recipes and stories from the Mowgli Street Food restaurants brings you the best of their beloved menu, and much more。 Try delicious snacks such as Fenugreek Kissed Fries or a Masala Wrap, and spice up your dinner with a whole host of delicious dahls。 Discover how to recreate the iconic Angry Bird, the signature flavours of the House Lamb Curry, and of course, the secrets of the taste explosion that are Chat Bombs。 And indulge in desserts, drinks and cocktails such as the Cardamom Custard Tart or a Sweet Delhi Diazepam。

From the Mowgli Chip Butty to the iconic Yogurt Chat Bombs, Mother Butter Chicken to Calcutta Tangled Greens, this is the definitive collection of Mowgli's signature street food dishes to recreate at home。

Not what expected Expected to see basic Indian recipes。 Recipes seem complicated and time consuming。 I wouldn’t recommend this cook book。 Doubt I’ll try one recipe。

As someone who loves to eat but who by evening is diminished by small children to a Netflix zombie incapable of more than precariously chopping some salad (in my hands, no board) into a bowl and opening a can of something on top, this book provides quick simple meals bursting with vibrant flavour that I actually have the energy and inclination to cook。

Excellent book。 The angry bird and chick peas with tea are ace。 I hope this lady's restaurant in Manchester survives the covid 19 virus。 I would really like to see if my stuff tastes the same。 It concentrates on the real street food and I would recommend it to anyone。 Excellent book。 The angry bird and chick peas with tea are ace。 I hope this lady's restaurant in Manchester survives the covid 19 virus。 I would really like to see if my stuff tastes the same。 It concentrates on the real street food and I would recommend it to anyone。 。。。more

I really enjoyed this cookbook, I love the look into the various styles of cooking from her mother and father's part of India。 The book and pictures are beautiful, the author has a great voice and lovely stories from India, home and her restaurant and she has a nice savoury sweet tooth like mine。 Not for sweet desserts but for a sweet touch in foods。 I can't wait to try these! Clear instructions and easy to follow ingredient lists help guide you through the recipes to produce amazing meals with clear indian flavors, not watered down for the western palette。 A wide variety of recipes to suit the animal lover and vegan at your table。Couple of favorites: Tea Steeped Chickpeas, Kohlrabi and Ginger Curry, Bhatura, Mowgli Chutney (goes on everything!) and Mowgli Rocky Road。
